2011 Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe.

A new exhibition from Sebastian Vettel, in wich just Fernando Alonso was able to prevent a new Red-Bull doublet. The first place seemed earned from the start, but the second and the third place were decided after a series of pit-stop strategies and after a race with barely any mistakes from Webber and Alonso.

The fourth position was for Lewis Hamilton, who had many problems with tyre degradation due to his agresive driving. It is worth to mention his poor start, where he let through both Ferraris, taking those the third and fourth position in waht seemed to be a promising start for the team. Although Massa couldn't keep the place, ceding it back to Hamilton after the first pit-stop. Jenson Button was taken over by Nico Rosberg's Mercedes at the start, but he recovered the sixth place on lap six keeping the position for the rest of the race even having problems with the KERS.  Nico Rosberg also maintained the seventh place from then on.

After a magnificent race, Jaime Alguersuari, that began eighteenth, ended up on the eighth position adding some valuable points. The rest of the positions awarded with points were for Adrian Sutil and Nick Heidfeld.

Michael Schumacher had an unlucky crash with Petrov leaving boxes after his first pit-stop, having to stop again on the next lap to change his front wing. Because of this he went into the last place, and he was just able to finish  seventeenth.

Most drivers stopped in boxes three times, and used the softest tyres on the first two stints and the mid-soft for the last one. The first stints were quite short because of the high degradation.

Surprisingly there were no OUTS on the whole race. This situation has only happened four times in history.

Next race: Sylverstone (10th July). There will be some changes in the FIA rules.
